The art of rebels: experience the heart of Paris street art scene
They say it is the art of the rebels. It is always changing and it changes quickly. Paris street art photo story. See; Listen; Feel. The streets are talking; The walls are singing; Panels are swinging. It is vibrant. In some places, it is like a treasure hunt. Come with me and let’s explore this world; The talented world of street artists.
Street art: it is popular expression, it is art
It’s no secret that i am a lover of street art. This counterculture movement certainly does capture some fabulous work. If there is one place i am looking forward to discovering, it is Buenos Aires. Street art there is one of a kind. Buenos Aires wears the label “capital of street art” for a reason.
Street art and graffiti art are certainly gaining more and more popularity in Paris. It fills me with excitement. La Butte aux Cailles for instance is a good place to admire some popular ones. This area of Paris still have the appearance of a small village. A centrally located water spring that local still use for drinking water. Here you will find several works by the artist named Misstic. Most of the local business are more than happy to have a piece of their building covered in street art.
The 13th as a whole and Belleville hold some exciting pieces of work. If you are in luck, you may find someone spraying. Faces; Animals; Humans; Nature; Geometrical shapes; Kaleidoscopes; Bright and dark colours; All blend strikingly in fairy tale inspired worlds, everyday life, or surrealism. Sculptures; Illustrations; Paintings; Abstract pieces; Paste-ups… Art is definitely also on the streets. The streets are pieces of art.
Paris street art photo story, a journey in pictures
There is so much more out there on the streets. Open your eyes. Look up. Wander through the narrow lanes. Inspired by the likes of Banksy, public space and concrete walls become expressive and creative playgrounds. Outdoor galleries for all of us to enjoy. Beautified buildings; Murals dotted here and there. Awesome graffitis. Each artist, with its own style captures an outstanding amount of candid shots of life.
Most pieces of work in this photo story can be admired at Legrand8. An exhibition is actually running. A bit like a contained industrial area a quiet suburb. The whole place is completely covered in street art, stencil and graffiti. Wooden sculptures painted mural, photographies and more. So many different styles under one roof. Join me in wanderlust.
